A winding road ahead while riding the shuttle bus Our travelling continued with a 2nd Nature day trip to Ciwidey province, a further 50 km from Bandung. The first stop is the Kawah Putih, a striking lake formed in a volcano crater. We left for Ciwidey early in the morning but only managed to arrive almost at noon due to heavy traffic. Once we arrived at the main gate, we had to leave our van at the main car park and catch one of those orange mini shuttle buses that brought us another 5 km to the crater. The entrance ticket to this crater was RP 20,000 per person and can be bought at the main gate. A standing post is at the main entrance. A creative notice board is available for visitors. Tangkuban Perahu is one of those recommended trips, situated about 30 km from Bandung. We descended from the edge of the crater to the boiling mud on the hot surface of Tangkuban Perahu, a volcano that last erupted in 1983. Actually, there are not many tourists who go down, but we were brave enough to explore the crater. The experience—nothing surpasses the ambiance; in fact, we thoroughly enjoyed the 'Crater Spa' at Kawah Domas. The view from the top A handcraft seller on the way down Let's play hide and seek!
