Balkan Discovery Trip. Day 9: Skopje to Kuala Lumpur

We went to the Old Bazaar, located just opposite of our hotel, in the morning. It is Skopje's central marketplace and has been operating continuously since the 12th century, making it one of the oldest and largest in the Balkans. The Old Bazaar is significant not just as a marketplace, but also for its historical and cultural significance. Remains of Byzantine architecture coexist with Ottoman structures, and contemporary architectural styles have been included in ongoing rehabilitation projects. We made a brief stop at Murat Pasha, a mosque built between 1802 and 1803, before continuing heading to the Stone Bridge. Before crossing the bridge, we passed by a handful of interesting attractions, such as the History Museum & Arts Academy and Daut Pasha Hamam, among others. Nevertheless, we took pictures at the Monument of Philip II of Macedonia and the Fountain of Olympia—Mother of Alexandria.
