China Ancient Trip, Day 6: Xi'an

The local time was no different from Malaysia time; in fact, the prayer time was about 30 minutes early. Fang picked us up earlier that day, as we were ready by 8am. For the early stop, we headed to the Big Wild Goose Pagoda, a Buddhist pagoda built during the Tang Dynasty.

It was a big complex. To the north are the famous North Square, the Tang Ci’en Temple Site Park and the East Garden; also, the West Garden; and to the south, the South Square. We came from the main north gate of the Daci’en Temple. A group of pink ladies was having a praying ceremony in front of the temple and that area was shrouded with the smoke of the burning incense.

Adult ticket was RMB50
If I'm not mistaken, this is the monk's dormitory

Locals are doing their prayers.
Seven-story pagoda.. . We were not decided to pop-in
National backbone?? Are you referring to 'citizen'?
Nice to lepak (loungers) in the garden

Shaanxi History Museum was about a 5-minute drive from the pagoda. Luckily, as we got there early, we had free tickets at the museum, as they are giving away limited tickets daily on a first-come, first-served basis. We opted to rent the audio guide for RMB 20 with an RM 100 refundable deposit. Though rather new, the museum vividly shows the Chinese history dated back from prehistoric times to about 19 centuries.

This museum was opened to the public on June 20, 1991

It was a half-day city tour on the second day Fang has sent us back to the hotel by noon. We cooked an instant lunch and then rest for the afternoon. Although it was only one and half-day tour trip, the experience and the pleasure derived valuable addition to the hospitality by Fang. Later in the evening, we hung out at the Drum tower and again had a sumptuous dinner at the Muslim street before calling the day!

Instant and healthy lunch.. :P
