Japan Summer Trip. Day 1: Osaka

Good boy!
We visited another one of east Asian country, Japan. This time we visited several cities in Kansai, Shikoku and Chugoku region. Our flight departed well at almost 12 midnight, and safely landed at the KIX airport on the early next day.

It is just too early for hotel check-in, so we decided to have our first shopping at Rinku Premium Outlet. Just stone away from the airport, RPO is reachable either by train or shuttle bus provided at the airport. After settling down with the JR rail pass and the 'Osaka amazing pass', we took Kansai airport line to the Rinku Town station.

It was really convenient having Ta-Q-bin service to deliver your luggage to the hotel
Well, RPO barely a shopping outlet for big brands, good thing is that it is suitable for last minute shopping where we had to buy new luggage (not because of intense shopping :-)) since our Langkawi's luggage (grey colour) has ended its 4 years service.

They looked lethargic after more that 6 hour flight, aren't they?
Ahhhh... smiley faces can't wait for shopping
JPO.. err sorry, RPO, Rinku Premium Outlet
I never knew about this brand
After spending more than an hour at RPO, we took back the train to KIX airport having our first Japanese lunch. The Udon Sanuki has halal certified by the Malaysia Travel Agency in Japan. If you ask me, is it easy to get halal food in Japan? I would say, you can find many Japanese restaurant selling seafood kind of meal.

The JR pass comes with return ticket from KIX airport. We took the Haruka Limited Express to Shin-Osaka station. Well, though it's never been so easy to get familiar with the station, local people are much there to help for direction. Our hotel is about 10 minutes walk from the Shin-Osaka station.

After simple wash and dress-up, we continued our Osaka's first day trip heading to the Umeda area riding the Midosuji Line, the Osaka subway. We hopped into HEP Five Ferris Wheel to enjoy the panoramic view of Osaka city. Instead of planning to go to Grand Front Osaka, we detour to theYodobashi-Umeda located just 500 meters from HEP Five, looking for Ultraman toys, Tenkan knights (am I spelling correctly :P).

Huh?? Nu'man pening kepala nak pilih mana satu..
Am I pretty?
We did pass by the Grand Front Osaka on the way to the Umeda Sky building, but it just a normal high-end shopping complex, in contrary to what one of the suggested visiting place by trip advisor. By that time, we starved for food and stop at 'Malaysia Boleh' restaurant in front of the Umeda Sky Building. We found this Japanese owned restaurant using HalalNavi, but then it is located in a small alley that we couldn't spotted. Luckily, a gentleman helped us by directly called the restaurant for direction. To what our surprise, it's just in front of us! We had our Nasi Lumma and Nasi Goreng Ayam. (Sorry Ms Mazura Mokhtar for not following your rules by eating Malaysian Food.. Hahahah)

The escalator is crossing the wide-atrium-like space and hanging on the 40th floor
Initially we planned to stroll along Shinsaibashi street. However, our energy bar drop to the lowest, and we need to recharge. We saved the Shinsaibashi attack on the next day. I'll continue the 2nd day trip in the next post. Stay tuned...

Note: 2-Day Osaka Amazing Pass covers unlimited ride to the Osaka subway and free entrance to most of the top sightseeing places.

Thinking of the same idea as what Zarin did in his wrapping up post, I'll do the same for the sake of my own record.  This post will be updated from time to time. Indonesia Island Trip. Day 1: Lombok - Gili Terawangan

Sarapan pagi  kat airport We had been rotating to visit the Southeast Asia country each year and this is the fourth time visit to Indonesia after Bali (2010),  Bukittinggi (2012) and Bandung (2014). Looks like we made a return every 2 years, that's interesting! We may need to consider other countries like Brunei, Philippines or Cambodia in the near future. Three hours later, we arrived Lombok International Airport at noon. We were welcomed by Pak Ibrahim's staff shortly after clearing immigration and collecting our luggage. The weather that day was slightly overcast. En route to Teluk Kodek Port, we stopped at Sukarara Weaving Village. By the time we reached there, it was raining heavily. It is a traditional craft of weaving center located in Lombok West Nusa Tenggara. Not much seen as it felt, we had  ayam taliwang for lunch at Taliwang Alam Nyaman restaurant, known for its famous local dish. Alpukat Jus (Avocado Juice) is also a must try whenever you vi...

Singapore Trip: A lion-city escapade

Watch out! It is a zika-free :P trip to the city of light that we had on the 2nd mid-term school holiday, apart from the 'balik kampung' to Ipoh and JB on both week end. My wife managed to secure a stay for 2 nights at the 'Rumah Peranginan Persekutuan' where it supposed to be a big family trip with my siblings.  It was a big vacation house, which I believe can cater at least 15-20 people. For some reasons, they had to turn it down. Note: Pictures taken are not in the best quality as I'm still get my hands on the new DSLR camera.. wink.. wink..
