Southern Thailand Trip. Day 4-5: Krabi

The Natural hot spring
Next on the second day of the itinerary, the Krabi natural hot spring, located at Amphoe Khlong Thom, is about 70 km from Ao Nang city center.

The hot spring mineral waterfall comes down from a nearby mountain and there are many hollowed-out 'bathtubs,' which are caused by the running water from the thermal springs. We were given 20 minutes and took a chance to soak in the hot spring.

We were in the Safari group number 5... yeayyy
Been told that the water is around 40 degrees in temperature

The rich copper content in the water creates the Emerald Pool, our next stop. There were two possible routes: the 1.8-kilometer nature trails if one wanted to enjoy the Khao Phra Bang Khram nature reserve. We opted for the shorter and easy trail, which took us 15 minutes to reach the emerald pool. However, we had chosen to walk on to the Blue Pool for another 15 minutes, hoping that the time allotted would be enough for swimming in the emerald pool later. To our surprise, the brightly colored "Blue Pool," located some 600 m further upstream, was a worthy "must-see" site, though we were not allowed to swim. Clap your hands if you want to see the surface bubbling!

After lunch, we proceeded to Krabi town for our next stop, the Tiger Cave Temple. We were only an hour away from the Emerald pool, so we seized the opportunity to take a quick nap! Upon our arrival at the Tiger Cave, we learned that the climb to the summit involved 1,237 steps. I was a bit reluctant to climb, considering my age... So we decided to stay low, though the tour guide did explain the breathtaking view of Krabi town and the magnificent Buddha statue at the top. With the two hours allotted, we ventured into the surrounding areas of this big complex.

Makkk... Nu'man nak naik gajah!

After we were all back on the van, it was time to head off to the elephant camp. It was located in a palm plantation. We felt worried when we saw the sky starting to turn dark. It's going to be raining soon. We did the elephant trekking back in Phuket, but we were intrigued with this trip that includes the elephant bathing in the river. Whether it was sunny or rainy, the activity still took place. Despite not taking many pictures, we enjoyed the elephant ride and purchased a cheap raincoat from the camp.

The tour ended around 5 pm, and we had our Thai massage last night and made a second comeback to the Ban Lay seafood restaurant. The next morning, we walked on the beach before getting ready for the inbound flight in the afternoon.
