Southern Thailand Trip. Day 4-5: Krabi

The Natural hot spring
Next on the second day of the itinerary was the Krabi natural hot spring located at Amphoe Khlong Thom, It was about 70 km from Ao Nang city center.

The hot spring mineral waterfall comes down from the nearby mountain and there are many hollowed-out 'bathtubs' which are caused by the running water from the thermal springs. We were given 20 minutes and took a chance soaked in the hot spring.

We were in the Safari group number 5... yeayyy
Been told that the water is around 40 degrees in temperature
The Emerald Pool, which was our next stop, is created by the rich copper content in the water. There were two possible routes, the nature trails of 1.8 km if one to enjoy the Khao Phra Bang Khram nature reserve. We opted for the shorter and easy trail, which took us 15 minutes to reach the emerald pool. However, we had chosen to walk on to the Blue Pool, for another 15 minutes hoping that the time allotted is enough for swimming in the emerald pool later. To our surprise, the brightly coloured ‘Blue Pool’ located some 600m further upstream, were worthy 'must-see' site, though we were not allowed to swim. If you guys want to see the surface bubbling, do clap your hands!

Nu'man was not in the good mood.. tired maybe?

Had our Thai-lunch here
After lunch, we proceeded to Krabi town for our next stop, the Tiger Cave Temple. An hour from the Emerald pool so we took the opportunity to have a quick snooze! On arrival at the Tiger cave, we had been told that the journey to the top require 1,237 steps to the summit. I was a bit reluctant to climb up, considering my age.. :), So we decided to stay low, though the tour guide did explain the breathtaking view of Krabi town and the magnificent Budha statue at the top. With the 2 hours allotted time, we did venture the surrounding areas of this big complex.

Makkk.. Nu'man nak naik gajah!
Were they pulling my leg?

We did enter the cave/temple
A history about a monk who discovered tigers roaming through the caves.
After we were all back on the van, it was time to head off the elephant camp. It was located in a palm plantation. We felt worried when we saw the sky started to turn into dark. It's gonna be raining soon. We did the elephant trekking back in Phuket, but we were intrigued with this trip that includes the elephant bathing in the river. Shine or rain, the activity still went on, We bought a cheap rain coat provided at the camp, and enjoyed the elephant ride, though not so many pictures taken.

The sky starts to drizzle
There will be an elephant show afterward.
Wefie time!
Five years old elephant made a movement

The tour ends up around 5 pm and we had our Thai massage on the last night and made a second comeback to the Ban Lay seafood restaurant. In the next morning, we walked on the beach before get ready for the inbound flight in the afternoon.

Indonesia Island Trip. Day 1: Lombok - Gili Terawangan

Sarapan pagi  kat airport We had been rotating to visit the Southeast Asia country each year and this is the fourth time visit to Indonesia after Bali (2010),  Bukittinggi (2012) and Bandung (2014). Looks like we made a return every 2 years, that's interesting! We may need to consider other countries like Brunei, Philippines or Cambodia in the near future. Three hours later, we arrived Lombok International Airport at noon. We were welcomed by Pak Ibrahim's staff shortly after clearing immigration and collecting our luggage. The weather that day was slightly overcast. En route to Teluk Kodek Port, we stopped at Sukarara Weaving Village. By the time we reached there, it was raining heavily. It is a traditional craft of weaving center located in Lombok West Nusa Tenggara. Not much seen as it felt, we had  ayam taliwang for lunch at Taliwang Alam Nyaman restaurant, known for its famous local dish. Alpukat Jus (Avocado Juice) is also a must try whenever you vi...

Singapore Trip: A lion-city escapade

Watch out! It is a zika-free :P trip to the city of light that we had on the 2nd mid-term school holiday, apart from the 'balik kampung' to Ipoh and JB on both week end. My wife managed to secure a stay for 2 nights at the 'Rumah Peranginan Persekutuan' where it supposed to be a big family trip with my siblings.  It was a big vacation house, which I believe can cater at least 15-20 people. For some reasons, they had to turn it down. Note: Pictures taken are not in the best quality as I'm still get my hands on the new DSLR camera.. wink.. wink..
