Northern Thailand Trip. Day 3: Chiang Mai

Before that, Nu'man wanted to swim in the pool even though he felt hesitant due to the Covid-19 pandemic. No one could be seen at the pool area so Nu'man and I just lay back by the poolside.

While yesterday we explored the inner city of the Chiang Mai city wall, today we went further to explore a bit to the northwest. Most were museums dedicated to several folklore people apart from the Lanna.

At 10:30 am, we went to the Highland People Discovery Museum. Initially, we would like to first visit their village; however, it was closed for renovation. So we continued to the museum located just beside the village.

Free entry to the museum but a tip is very welcome. We were greeted by a delightful lady once we stepped into the museum. There were only us in that museum, as you expected. :P
The museum was rather small
Nice steps into the museum
She was very friendly
This floor has several videos explaining tribe's history

On the second floor exhibits some of the old stuffs
A cassette tape recorder
A super little museum yet entertaining
Next stopped was the Chiang Mai National Museum. We felt a bit disappointed since the exhibitions were mostly on Buddhism, and a bit on Lanna Kingdom on the second floor.

Not so many visitors coming to the national museum
The museum opens Wednesday to Sunday, from 9am to 5pm

We ordered quite a lot for our lunch at Ruammit 1. I guessed portion of each dish was catered for more than 2 people, and we ordered 3 dishes. Oxtail soup was the spotlight and the other two never failed us on the exceptional Thai food taste. After lunch, we backed to hotel.

A very delicious oxtail soup

The provide free shuttle to Anursan night market daily at 6 pm. Then, we reserved our seats as Nu'man is craving the banana & chocolate pancake that he had yesterday.

While waiting for our pancake, these guys ate their crunchy scorpions
SheMales were preparing for cabaret show started at 9pm
