Southern Thailand Trip. Day 3: Phattalung

Our adventure in Hatyai continues on the 3rd day with a visit to the picturesque Thale Noi, a river basin located at the topmost part of Songkhla Lake. This hidden gem is a paradise for bird enthusiasts and nature lovers alike.

To fully immerse ourselves in the beauty of Thale Noi, we hopped on a cruise at Long-Tail Boat Pier. As we glided through the calm waters, we were greeted by an array of different bird species that call this place home. The Bird Watching Park provided us with an opportunity to observe these magnificent creatures up close while surrounded by stunning water lilies in the Red Lotus Lake.

Nestled amidst lush greenery lies Khao Chaison Hot Spring - a tranquil oasis offering relaxation and rejuvenation like no other. This natural wonder boasts both hot and cold natural springs, perfect for soothing tired muscles and refreshing the mind.

As we arrived at Khao Chaison Hot Spring, we were greeted by mischievous macaques that added a touch of playfulness to our experience. We couldn't resist their charm as they swung from tree branches and interacted with visitors. It was a delightful encounter that brought smiles to our faces.

Eager to unwind, we dipped our feet into the hot and cold natural springs. The therapeutic properties of these mineral-rich waters worked wonders on our weary bodies. We also discovered that Khao Chaison Hot Spring offers free admission, making it an affordable option for relaxation seekers.

For those seeking additional pampering, healing massages are available at an incredibly reasonable price of 120 Baht per hour.

After resting in the afternoon, our foodie adventure in Hatyai continues with a visit to Big C Supermarket. Known as one of the largest supermarket chains in Thailand, this is the perfect place for us to hunt for local snacks to bring back home.

We took a tuk-tuk going to Big C

Our journey through Hatyai wouldn't be complete without indulging in some fresh seafood delights. And there's no better place than Khlonghae Seafood Buffet – a haven for seafood lovers seeking an all-you-can-eat extravaganza!

As we enter the restaurant, we are greeted by rows upon rows of mouthwatering seafood dishes beautifully displayed on ice beds. From succulent prawns and juicy crabs to tender fish fillets cooked in various styles, the options seem endless.

As we fill ourselves with one delectable dish after another, it's hard not to appreciate the generous portions and quality ingredients that Khlonghae Seafood Buffet has to offer. The attentive staff ensures that our dining experience is nothing short of exceptional.

As we settled into our cozy beds, memories of Thale Noi's bird watching park, indulging in delectable local cuisine at the night market, and relaxing at Khao Chaison Hot Spring danced through our minds. Our adventure had been filled with unforgettable experiences that truly showcased the beauty and charm of Phattalung.

Tomorrow, we would continue our exploration of this captivating city, discovering more hidden gems and immersing ourselves in its vibrant culture. But for now, it was time to drift off into a peaceful slumber, eagerly anticipating what tomorrow had in store.

Sarapan pagi  kat airport We had been rotating to visit the Southeast Asia country each year and this is the fourth time visit to Indonesia after Bali (2010),  Bukittinggi (2012) and Bandung (2014). Looks like we made a return every 2 years, that's interesting! We may need to consider other countries like Brunei, Philippines or Cambodia in the near future. Three hours later, we arrived Lombok International Airport at noon. We were welcomed by Pak Ibrahim's staff shortly after clearing immigration and collecting our luggage. The weather that day was slightly overcast. En route to Teluk Kodek Port, we stopped at Sukarara Weaving Village. By the time we reached there, it was raining heavily. It is a traditional craft of weaving center located in Lombok West Nusa Tenggara. Not much seen as it felt, we had  ayam taliwang for lunch at Taliwang Alam Nyaman restaurant, known for its famous local dish. Alpukat Jus (Avocado Juice) is also a must try whenever you vi...

Singapore Trip: A lion-city escapade

Watch out! It is a zika-free :P trip to the city of light that we had on the 2nd mid-term school holiday, apart from the 'balik kampung' to Ipoh and JB on both week end. My wife managed to secure a stay for 2 nights at the 'Rumah Peranginan Persekutuan' where it supposed to be a big family trip with my siblings.  It was a big vacation house, which I believe can cater at least 15-20 people. For some reasons, they had to turn it down. Note: Pictures taken are not in the best quality as I'm still get my hands on the new DSLR camera.. wink.. wink..
