Indonesia West Sumatra Trip. Day 4-5: Padang - Kuala Lumpur
Halfway back to Padang, we stopped at Padang Panjang for Sate Mak Syukur lunch. Satay is available in the morning, which is not the norm in Malaysia. The gravy was a bit different and tasted spicier than our sambal kacang.
An hour apart, we stopped for lunch at Rumah Makan Lamun Ombak. We decided to tour the city of Padang before checking in late to the Rocky Plaza Hotel.
The restaurant was packed with patronage
Me with the driver-cum-tour guide
We found the nasi himpit to be the best option available.
Theme-park located at sub-urban area
We were still filled with food, but still had space for lunch.
Our favorite is definitely the sambal ijo.
We briefly stopped at still under construction state mosque
The mosque will be named as Masjid Raya Sumatera Barat
The Siti Nurbaya bridge connecting Nipah street to Batang Arau
The Batang Arau river
Not so clean Pantai Air Manis
Late check-in.
Welcoming drinks provided
Nak jugak dia punya sendiri.
After a short rest, we went out for dinner. We asked our tour guide to eat where most local people go. He took us to the Soto Garuda restaurant, which did not disappoint.
Then, it was time to go back... Bye-bye, West Sumatera
Long corridor...
The restaurant opens until 9 pm
A must-try dish called soto padang.
Then, it was time to go back... Bye-bye, West Sumatera
