Japan Summer Trip. Day 10: Arashiyama

Sagano Scenic Railway
The last two days of this trip ended with a Sagano day trip. We opted to skip the Kinkakuji and Ryoanji Temples. It takes around 20 minutes to reach Saga Arashiyama station using the Sanin Main Line from the city of Kyoto.

Once we arrived at the Saga Arashiyama, there was another station, Saga Torokko Station, outfitted with nostalgic trains featuring wooden benches. The 25-minute ride took us towards the Arashiyama station, giving us a pleasant view of the scenery through the forested ravine and rough river.

Gorgeous...!

We were heading to Arashiyama (Storm Mountain).

There is an option to take a bus from the Torokko Kameoka station heading to the Hazugawa River, where you can have a river tour. Again, we opted not to take the boat ride due to the time constraint. We need to transit in Kyoto to get our luggage kept in the hotel before heading to Osaka for a night. We took some pictures with the Arashiyama background before we decided to return. We skipped the Arashiyama National Park and the Iwatayama Monkey Park that initially we planned to visit (we have visited the monkey park on Shodo Island). Halfway through the train ride, we stopped and walked through the well-known Arashiyama Bamboo Grove. Nothing can describe the leisurely stroll through the path.

Before noon, we took the JR Sanin Main Line back to Kyoto Station and checked out from the Sakura Gallery Terrace. After checking in to the Hotel Nikko Kansai Airport, we went for a final shopping trip at the Rinku Premium Outlet.

Had lunch at Kyoto station before heading back to Osaka

It was time to go back.. We flew to KL the following day. So, that's it, guys. This trip gave us a wonderful experience and hoping that we can come back again to visit the other parts of Japan.
