Japan Summer Trip. Day 4: Takamatsu

We are supposed to attend the SNPD conference for 2.5 days, yet no one is willing to sit and hear all of the papers presented :-P. So, I chose papers presented that most relate to my works and interests. After breakfast, we just wander around the Sunport Hall.

Breakfast for the champions!

Nu'man is the youngest participant, perhaps?

Most of the restaurants in Japan have food replicas

Other than the keynote speech and technical presentation, the conference committee did organize short excursions daily. In the evening, we joined the conference group to visit the Tamamo Park and the ruins of the Takamatsu Castle. It's just a 5-minute walk from the hotel.

This garden was built by Chikamasa Ikoma, the first feudal lord of Takamatsu

After passing through the inner moat... turn right!

It doesn't look like the administrative office. :)
Nu'man running happily all over the place.

We were really enjoying the breathtaking view and the green scenery
This is actually the administrative office.

We were intrigued with Ritsurin garden located at the foot of Mount Shiun. It was summer and think of we still got time to kill, we rode about 10 minutes Takamatsu-Kotohira Electric Railroad from the Takamtsuchikko station to Ritsurinkoen station. The garden is about 10 minutes walk to the east. (yup, i'm using compass throughout my trip to find direction!)

We were thinking to rent bicycles, but then after hefty conversation, end up we just walked
We felt so welcome..
Once we stepped into the garden, we astonished by the view.
The garden fills with chesnut groves

From the small hills, we can overlook the beautiful garden. Wonder how it looks like in spring!
The hill has another name Mount Fuji, Fuyo!
There are various bridges, footpaths and small hills in the garden, not forgetting the lakes!

Probably, this is the tea house

Shin-higurashittei aka cycads.
There was supposed a building built during Edo period, somehow.. (Sorry I can't recall the notice)
Nope! it's not the watch! it's referred to the artificial pond set using natural rock bed.
Meandering the stream party..
This garden closed at 7 p.m. in the summer. We spent our short time in this beautiful garden that I would suggest a 2 hour visit with a lunch picnic would be the best. We exited through the north gate headed to ride JR Kitaguchi passing through the local neighborhood.

Aaaa.. Ice-cream shop
This is really a small station. :P
We had our express dinner at the Takamatsu station
What is your order, mister?
A nice experienced having dinner by the train platform,
