Japan Summer Trip. Day 5: Takamatsu

The ferry to Shodoshima Island was really cozy.
We didn't plan any sightseeing trip because I was thinking just to visit attractions around Takamatsu city, but we had a short trip to Shodoshima Island. From the Takamatsu port, we bought one way ferry ticket to Tonosho port that cost us ¥1050 and ¥530, for adult and child, respectively for a 70 minute journey.

There were two things that synonymous to this island, famous as the setting of the twenty-four eyes Japanese film and the first place in Japan that successfully grows olive. We visited both attractions apart from the other recommended sites

Nu'man playing the slot machine.
Here we go!
Here we are!
The Olive Line safely cruises us to Tonosho
One thing that is lack on this island is the public transportation. I guessed that local mostly rely on their private transportation, hence it's quite troublesome if you want to explore the island by bus. We don't have any choices other than to rely on the taxi, though its quite expensive. Our first stop in Shodoshima Island is the Monkey Park.

Beware of monkeys!
Where are all the monkeys?
Nope! This is not a monkey..
Aaaa.. Say hello to your friends!
Up to the monkey hill.

The monkey performance is really awesome. Look at the crowd!
This 'guy' showed off some of his skills
The ticket counter
We had to wait a while until the taxi arrived for our next stop
Our next stop is the Kankakei Ropeway, about 10 minutes, which runs through a gorge in Shodoshima Island.

The view is really breathtaking, i really would suggest to anyone visiting Shodoshima Island
Waiting for our turn in a long queue..
In fact, the cable car packed with tourist

Being the no 1 attraction in Shodoshima, suggested by Tripadvisor, it took some time for us to appreciate the Movie Village of 24-no-Hotomi. Haven't aware about the movie, however, this village does attract us with the setup. What's striking us is how an old Japanese village and old age Japanese school being built by the sea shore.

I'm strong!
Row..row...row your boat..
Green tea ice-creams are everywhere.. vanilla this time!
This stream full with big fish, even it's jump to the air. Too bad I missed the chances to snap!
Very nostalgic..

Our next stop is the Shodojima Olive Park, where we can see a lot of olive trees (of course la) and a windmill. Not to forget, the wide view of the sea from the hill is really stunning.

Explanation about the olive oil making process in the gallery.

Indonesia Island Trip. Day 1: Lombok - Gili Terawangan

Sarapan pagi  kat airport We had been rotating to visit the Southeast Asia country each year and this is the fourth time visit to Indonesia after Bali (2010),  Bukittinggi (2012) and Bandung (2014). Looks like we made a return every 2 years, that's interesting! We may need to consider other countries like Brunei, Philippines or Cambodia in the near future. Three hours later, we arrived Lombok International Airport at noon. We were welcomed by Pak Ibrahim's staff shortly after clearing immigration and collecting our luggage. The weather that day was slightly overcast. En route to Teluk Kodek Port, we stopped at Sukarara Weaving Village. By the time we reached there, it was raining heavily. It is a traditional craft of weaving center located in Lombok West Nusa Tenggara. Not much seen as it felt, we had  ayam taliwang for lunch at Taliwang Alam Nyaman restaurant, known for its famous local dish. Alpukat Jus (Avocado Juice) is also a must try whenever you vi...

Singapore Trip: A lion-city escapade

Watch out! It is a zika-free :P trip to the city of light that we had on the 2nd mid-term school holiday, apart from the 'balik kampung' to Ipoh and JB on both week end. My wife managed to secure a stay for 2 nights at the 'Rumah Peranginan Persekutuan' where it supposed to be a big family trip with my siblings.  It was a big vacation house, which I believe can cater at least 15-20 people. For some reasons, they had to turn it down. Note: Pictures taken are not in the best quality as I'm still get my hands on the new DSLR camera.. wink.. wink..
