Emirates Trip. Day 4: Sharjah

All-in-all, we really enjoyed with our stay in Al Ain. Well, it's National Museum was a bit tourist trapped but the Oasis and Palace really caught our interest. Mecure Grand Jebel Hafeet was not disappointing either. What we missed? Exploring the Jebel Haffet Beehive Tombs, upon checking the internet, there was a must-see hot spring at Mubazarrah Park.Anyway, we filled our stay, swimming, mini-golfing, ping-ponging, and roaming around the Jebel Hafeet peak enjoying the epic view.

Fourth day in UAE, we transited to Sharjah. You ask, why the city? My wife was presenting her technical paper at American University of Sharjah. The city was also known as education city, where some new universities were still under construction. The architecture, was unbelievable and astounding!

Places that we visited in Al Ain's itinerary
The Hili Park to the north, and our hotel to the south, bordering the Oman
We started early after breakfast, as we decided to stop off Dubai Outlet Mall en route to Sharjah. We were expecting outlets such as Coach, Adidas and alike, but then, only local retailer were available. Though not much into our interest, my wife bought Skechers shoes while Nu'man as usual got his catch's at Comicave's toy store.

It tooks 'hours' for him to choose..
Huh! Finally...
We had a kubideh meal at the food court.. Guess what? A meal was enough for us!
We had to wait almost an hour for our room get ready, even though we arrived at Swiss-Belhotel at almost 3 pm. Sharjah Museum of Art and Museum of Islamic Civilization were in our today's list, and its were about 10 minutes walked from the hotel. But we gave it a pass as we were vividly remembering our visit to the Al Ain National Museum. My wife said "Same je kot semua museum nyer..." (probably all the museum are the same...). After all, we were too tired and the cozy bed were more tempted.

We went out that night to the Central Market, also known as Blue Souq due to the intricate blue tile work on the exterior. But then, we would not be able the snap pictures of it, yup, we saw it several times as it was located at the city center and quite near to our hotel.

Sent our laundry after 3 days in UAE
Exuberant vaults made up the interior looks fascinating
The Central Souk consists of two large buildings, interconnected by bridges

Indonesia Island Trip. Day 1: Lombok - Gili Terawangan

Sarapan pagi  kat airport We had been rotating to visit the Southeast Asia country each year and this is the fourth time visit to Indonesia after Bali (2010),  Bukittinggi (2012) and Bandung (2014). Looks like we made a return every 2 years, that's interesting! We may need to consider other countries like Brunei, Philippines or Cambodia in the near future. Three hours later, we arrived Lombok International Airport at noon. We were welcomed by Pak Ibrahim's staff shortly after clearing immigration and collecting our luggage. The weather that day was slightly overcast. En route to Teluk Kodek Port, we stopped at Sukarara Weaving Village. By the time we reached there, it was raining heavily. It is a traditional craft of weaving center located in Lombok West Nusa Tenggara. Not much seen as it felt, we had  ayam taliwang for lunch at Taliwang Alam Nyaman restaurant, known for its famous local dish. Alpukat Jus (Avocado Juice) is also a must try whenever you vi...

Singapore Trip: A lion-city escapade

Watch out! It is a zika-free :P trip to the city of light that we had on the 2nd mid-term school holiday, apart from the 'balik kampung' to Ipoh and JB on both week end. My wife managed to secure a stay for 2 nights at the 'Rumah Peranginan Persekutuan' where it supposed to be a big family trip with my siblings.  It was a big vacation house, which I believe can cater at least 15-20 people. For some reasons, they had to turn it down. Note: Pictures taken are not in the best quality as I'm still get my hands on the new DSLR camera.. wink.. wink..
