Emirates Trip. Day 8: Dubai

The Souk Al Bahar, beside the Al-Burj
We woke up early, as we booked Burj Khalifa's 'AT THE TOP' tickets for the 8:00-9:00 am time slot, and it came with a complimentary light breakfast. The tickets allowed us to go up to level 124 and access level 125. The tower can be further accessed until level 148 but it will require you to purchase a 'SKY' ticket at a higher price. We didn't opt for that.

We parked at Level 1 (Section M) of the Cinema Car Park, as recommended in the booking confirmation. By the time we reached there, we couldn't get access into the mall as it was locked. It was not the main entrance but it was probably the nearest to the ticketing counter.

Thank God, there was a guard and I promptly waved my hands for attention. He replied with a hand gesture and 7 fingers showed. Ooo... pintu bukak kul 7 laaa... It's just a couple minutes of waiting, and off we go! To our surprise, there were no crowds as we reached the ticketing desk. Probably because it was too early even though it was Friday, a weekend in Dubai.

It was still early in the morning, so it was pretty easy to get a postcard moment.
Haaa, kena turun tingkat LG...
Bila laa boleh pakai kereta macam ni...
Go get your ticket while it's still available!!
Ohhh okay... I didn't know that!
Yes, you're Burj Khalifa
From Dubai with love...

It took more than 4 years to finish.

Buai laju-laju... sampai pokok err...
A coffee or tea and croissant was served for each ticket as the complimentary meal

The checking time for Rose Garden Apartment was at 3 pm. Still having some time for leisure, we visited the Jumeirah mosque. Unfortunately, the mosque was locked and even I couldn't use the loo. And then we searched for Burj Al Arab, of course, after I was done with my business at the petrol station. It was around 15 km from the mosque and the Wild Wadi Water Park was just next to the Burj. I drove around the water park looking for the best spot to get a good picture snap. I didn't check on the internet that there was actually a public beach, which was quite near. So then, another reason to visit Dubai in the future.

This is the nearest that we can get...

We did the Mleiha dune bashing while we were in Sharjah. Yet still not enough, so we had another desert safari trip but this time in the evening. The trip included a BBQ dinner at a traditional Bedouin camp in the Al Awir region. After checking in to the apartment, a 4WD picked us up at around 3.30 pm and stopped for ATV quad bike riding. We had fun riding on the bike, three of us, but it was quite difficult to maneuver at first.

See videos below to feel the thrill... :-P

We were given 30 minutes for the ride before we ventured into the desert. We were offered the astonishing scenes of endless desert.

Another postcard moment

By the time before dusk, we arrived at the Bedouin camp. The breathtaking views of the desert were captured while we sat on the small hill. There were a lot of activities that one can participate likes henna painting, wearing the traditional Bedouin attire, and there was a Shisha corner. We had a camel ride and Nu'man tried the sandboarding from the hill. During the dinner, we were entertained by a belly dancing show (sorry guys, obscene is not allowed...) and another Tanoura dance performance.
