Eights days, three splendid cities. From preserve restored Islamic sites to the more modern Soviet Unions architecture, the cities incredibly distinguished by its own identities.
Last night we backed to the Hotel Uzbekistan, a classic example of a Soviet's architecture built in 1970. And we will be leaving Uzbekistan and hopefully we return to this fascinating country that has a lot to uncover.
Uzbekistan Airways flight HY 553 back to KLIA was later in the evening at 11-ish. Mr Zulfekar, our tour leader has requested for late check-out. That morning, we went to Chorsu Bazaar located in the center of the old town of Tashkent. We were given a 2 hours for shopping where we did bought souvenirs and local delicacies.

After the lunch, we headed to the Khazrat-Imam Complex located in the old part of Tashkent. The site dated from the 16th century, but it was largely rebuilt and now rarely used as spiritual-place as it was.
On the other hand, Tilya Sheikh Mosque, is where the world’s oldest koran is displayed. It’s said that the book dating from the 7th century. We were intrigued to see it with our bare eyes, however we need to buy tickets, that's not included in the package. Hmmm.. we had used up all our SOM notes and only left 100 USD. They don't accept other notes and cards either... sigh!

It was 4pm and we were told that we will be at the airport by 7pm. Three hours left, the bus took us to the Samarkand Darvoza, the biggest mall in Tashkent. Well, I must say that this mall is no less bigger than Tesco in Puchong.. :P

We bought pizza for our early dinner. |
By 7 pm, we reached the airport and settled down with flight check-in. Not so many people that day, probably because of the corona virus cases.

Taking preventive step from being infected with the corona virus. |
So guys... that's it for now! It was a memorable moment visiting the central Asia country, the Uzbekistan. Joining the tour package was a bit easy but less flexible. And, not much variety of places visited, no museum, no nature (I was expecting desert).. well Chimgan mountain might come close to that. Hopefully we can come again and visit other cities. Bye!
