Eastern Australia Trip. Day 6 : Gold Coast

First, Gold Coast famous with amusement park as I mentioned in the earlier post, then the coastal city rich with a long-stretched white-sandy beaches. It also referred to as "the green behind the gold", where the Tamborine Mountain and the Springbook are located. Currumbin and Numinbah Valley are also not-to-skip place for those who love nature. We decided to no-go for the nature, we had much of it on the Blue Mountain, and we would have island vacay on the next day. That will cover on later post. So we opted for outlet shopping and then wandered the Surfers' Paradise in the evening.

The skies started to dark when we were heading to Biggera Waters. It was raining heavily once we reached the Harbour Town Outlet, the Australia's largest shopping outlet, and homed to the 14-screens Reading cinemas. Big-brands such as Coach, Calvin Klein, Ralph Lauren, Hugo Boss and Nike as well as iconic Australian brands including Oroton, R.M. Williams and UGG Australia. We had our early lunch at Ispa Kebabs, the taste of Mediterranean in the coastal city... P

Not before going back to the hotel, I drove around the town looking for Chemist Warehouse. My cousin suggested that the outlet offers a good fragrance's bargain. Indeed, it was true, but the Coral scent for her liking it's not easily to get. We have been searching for that since we were in Sydney. Luckily, we found the Bvlgari Coral at one of the outlet. Ticking off our shopping-list, we went back to The Shore.

We were searching high and low for Bvlgari Coral fragrance
After dusk, we took the tram from the Surfers Paradise North, 5 minutes walked from our apartment, to the Cavill Avenue. The nightlife started to rolling in as we walk through the avenue. Many things can be done here, from the Timezone Attraction to the fulfilling your appetites with the street foods.  We popped in to The Ripley's Believe it or Not!, located just in forn the Paradise Center. Seeing all the weirdo and crazy things of our interest. Nu'man have it the most. Crazy mirror, shooting guns and the laser room was the most enjoying moment for us!

Then we walked to the beach, the Surfers Paradise. The festival of 2018 Commonwealth Games was held throughout Gold Coast, and the event was held along the beach. We saw the beach volleyball grandstands on the Coolangatta beachfront, the day we arrived here. It will be held on early April, nearly one month to the event. Apart from the festival promoting the Commonwealth Games, there was also a Sand Safari Arts Festival. Runs on yearly basis, the Sand Sculpting Championships made us amazed with the arts being shown. It was extraordinary experiences!

Indonesia Island Trip. Day 1: Lombok - Gili Terawangan

Sarapan pagi  kat airport We had been rotating to visit the Southeast Asia country each year and this is the fourth time visit to Indonesia after Bali (2010),  Bukittinggi (2012) and Bandung (2014). Looks like we made a return every 2 years, that's interesting! We may need to consider other countries like Brunei, Philippines or Cambodia in the near future. Three hours later, we arrived Lombok International Airport at noon. We were welcomed by Pak Ibrahim's staff shortly after clearing immigration and collecting our luggage. The weather that day was slightly overcast. En route to Teluk Kodek Port, we stopped at Sukarara Weaving Village. By the time we reached there, it was raining heavily. It is a traditional craft of weaving center located in Lombok West Nusa Tenggara. Not much seen as it felt, we had  ayam taliwang for lunch at Taliwang Alam Nyaman restaurant, known for its famous local dish. Alpukat Jus (Avocado Juice) is also a must try whenever you vi...

Singapore Trip: A lion-city escapade

Watch out! It is a zika-free :P trip to the city of light that we had on the 2nd mid-term school holiday, apart from the 'balik kampung' to Ipoh and JB on both week end. My wife managed to secure a stay for 2 nights at the 'Rumah Peranginan Persekutuan' where it supposed to be a big family trip with my siblings.  It was a big vacation house, which I believe can cater at least 15-20 people. For some reasons, they had to turn it down. Note: Pictures taken are not in the best quality as I'm still get my hands on the new DSLR camera.. wink.. wink..
