Eastern Australia Trip. Day 1 : Sydney

Yeaaa dah sampai sydney!
G'day mate! We just came back from the trip to the eastern part of Australia during the Chinese New Year holiday. Our late night Air Asia X flights arrived in Sydney the next morning. It was late summer season so the weather has been nice to us. However, we heard in the news that some part of the Sydney's suburbs get flooded, while we were in Brisbane. Having set aside 3 nights stayed in Edgecliff, that would never been enough time to visit all the interesting attractions in Sydney.

After getting the Optus sim card for Nu'man, we took a cab upon checking that the airport train fare were much less the same. We checked-in to the Edgecliff Lodge, and the instant noodle just enough for the lunch as we took heavy breakfast in flights. Though it was summer, most of the museums and attractions were close pretty early. There was no way we can spend the remaining time visiting the attractions around the city center.
Sydney.. checked!
We decided to head to the Bondi beach. We took the metro from the Edgecliff, about 10 minutes walk, to the Bondi Junction station on the T4 line. Then we rode a bus and hopped off along the Campbell Parade. The Opal card can be used for all the public transportation in the city. One off my cousin suggested to experience the coastal walk along the edge cliff between Bronte and Bondi. We gave a passed and just spent that evening over the Bondi beach.

It wasn't too many people compared to the late evening crowd.
It was a double-deck bus metro.. this is our first!
To the left is the Roscoe street
Panas-panas nie, kita makan ais-krim susu lahh..
It was really fascinating being here in Bondi, the most popular Sydney's beach. In the distance, surfers carried the board by the tail as the wind loves to creep up and toss the board from under. We were admired by the beach atmosphere and also the bluish sea water, though the waves were quite harsh.

A clear blue-sky, and a lush-green lawn
Jaga-jaga mata yo!
Birds flown as the waves hits the shore
Holy crap! It was cold..
Wished that I've owned one of the beach side apartments
Don't panic, let's picnic!
It listed as the cultural icon built in 1930
The evening view never failed to amaze me!
Restaurants and bars started to flock with visitors
Late in the evening, it was a long queue waiting for the buses going back to the Bondi Junction station. Initially we've been thought of having dinner somewhere around the station, but we were too exhausted so we just packed some food from the Coles store, only 5 minutes walked to our lodge.

Grab something for our dinner that day.

Some of the trip may have a  specific write-up  and you may click on the travelling month. Here is the world travel map, courtesy of TripAdvisor. A bit of Statistics: Total countries visited = 22/195 [Last updated : September 2023] Our Travel Map. [Courtesy of TripAdvisor. According to them, we only covered 13% of the Earth at the moment :P .... still long way to go and we didn't show USA map as to when we will be there]

Indonesia Island Trip. Day 1: Lombok - Gili Terawangan

Sarapan pagi  kat airport We had been rotating to visit the Southeast Asia country each year and this is the fourth time visit to Indonesia after Bali (2010),  Bukittinggi (2012) and Bandung (2014). Looks like we made a return every 2 years, that's interesting! We may need to consider other countries like Brunei, Philippines or Cambodia in the near future. Three hours later, we arrived Lombok International Airport at noon. We were welcomed by Pak Ibrahim's staff shortly after clearing immigration and collecting our luggage. The weather that day was slightly overcast. En route to Teluk Kodek Port, we stopped at Sukarara Weaving Village. By the time we reached there, it was raining heavily. It is a traditional craft of weaving center located in Lombok West Nusa Tenggara. Not much seen as it felt, we had  ayam taliwang for lunch at Taliwang Alam Nyaman restaurant, known for its famous local dish. Alpukat Jus (Avocado Juice) is also a must try whenever you vi...

Singapore Trip: A lion-city escapade

Watch out! It is a zika-free :P trip to the city of light that we had on the 2nd mid-term school holiday, apart from the 'balik kampung' to Ipoh and JB on both week end. My wife managed to secure a stay for 2 nights at the 'Rumah Peranginan Persekutuan' where it supposed to be a big family trip with my siblings.  It was a big vacation house, which I believe can cater at least 15-20 people. For some reasons, they had to turn it down. Note: Pictures taken are not in the best quality as I'm still get my hands on the new DSLR camera.. wink.. wink..
