Eastern Australia Trip. Day 1 : Sydney

Yeaaa, dah sampai Sydney!
G'day mate! We just came back from the trip to the eastern part of Australia during the Chinese New Year holiday. Our late-night AirAsia X flights arrived in Sydney the next morning. It was the late summer season so the weather has been nice to us. However, we heard in the news that some parts of Sydney's suburbs got flooded while we were in Brisbane. Having set aside 3 nights to stay in Edgecliff, that would have never been enough time to visit all the interesting attractions in Sydney.

After getting the Optus SIM card for Nu'man, we took a cab upon checking that the airport train fare was much less. We checked in to the Edgecliff Lodge, and the instant noodle was just enough for lunch, as we had a heavy breakfast on the flight. Though it was summer, most of the museums and attractions closed pretty early. There was no way we could spend the remaining time visiting the attractions around the city center.

Sydney.. checked!

We decided to head to Bondi Beach. We took the metro from the Edgecliff, about a 10-minute walk, to the Bondi Junction station on the T4 line. Then we rode a bus and hopped off along the Campbell Parade. The Opal card can be used for all the public transportation in the city. One of my cousins suggested experiencing the coastal walk along the edge of the cliff between Bronte and Bondi. We gave it a pass and just spent that evening over at Bondi Beach.

It wasn't too many people compared to the late evening crowd.
It was a double-deck bus metro... this is our first!
To the left is the Roscoe Street.
Panas-panas nie, kita makan ais-krim susu lahh.

It was really fascinating being here in Bondi, the most popular Sydney's beach. In the distance, surfers carried the board by the tail as the wind loves to creep up and toss the board from under. We were admired by the beach atmosphere and also the bluish sea water, though the waves were quite harsh.

A clear blue-sky, and a lush-green lawn
Jaga-jaga mata yo!
Birds flew as the waves hit the shore.
Holy crap! It was cold..
Wished that I've owned one of the beach side apartments
Don't panic, let's picnic!
It is listed as a cultural icon that was built in 1930.
The evening view never failed to amaze me!
Restaurants and bars started to flock with visitors

Late in the evening, it was a long queue waiting for the buses going back to the Bondi Junction station. Initially we've been thought of having dinner somewhere around the station, but we were too exhausted so we just packed some food from the Coles store, only 5 minutes' walk to our lodge.

Grab something for our dinner that day.
